What is the found money miata?

The found money miata is the idea of a inexpensive, fun car from shaking out the couch cushions and a bit of savvy.
Selling, bartering, trading stuff I don't want or need in the hopes of winding up with a 1st Gen (NA) Mazda Miata, arguably the most capable sports car that can be purchased for under $2000 usd.

This will chronical my trials, tribulations, and hopefully, successes at purchasing, building, and enjoying a car purchased purely with, what I like to call found money.  That is spare change (mine, not yours), selling random things I have around, maybe a little barter.  This is also to say no money from conventional income, not dipping into savings, and again, no handouts. The ads you see will hopefully be icing on the cake.  Again, no conventional income.  The stipulations lend themselves even more so to an affordable racer, again a Miata is the logical option.

To quelch the naysayers, the skeptics, the cynics, and yes, the haters, It is not a plea for handouts, no money for nothing crap here. The only thing I will ever ask for is advice, point me at a good deal, a comment, and if you wanna throw in an attaboy, great.  I will list some items for sale or barter, and if you want them, shoot me an offer.  I am not expecting enough traffic to sell this stuff strictly via the blog, so stuff listed will also be on craigslist, and perhaps a forum or two.

I aim to give a little economic commentary, some build progress, and a play by play of how to get something for not much.  To the right will be a register of the found money
account.
