I listed the previous mentioned baseball cards on CL. After no less than 20 e-mails, a fellow and I hash out a trade. He doesn't have a car, which is ok, we are all of different means, so I'm happy to accomodate by meeting him at school. I arrive 5 minutes before the prescribed time, and wait. He tells me he's waiting on his ride to school. I get that. 20 minutes later I get a message asking for me to meet him at his place. Something about warning bells. I agree to meet a block away at a public place.... even at 6'2" 190lbs I'd assume remain cautious. Wait for 20 minutes... then I leave.
...ok, he says his kid hid is phone... but really?
CL etiquette.
1. Meet in a public place.
2. Be prompt.
3. This isn't a date. Ask questions, exchange goods and funds, leave.
4. It wasn't a date, don't contact me unless it's a question about the product.
...and for the older folks, particularly the very sweet woman that bought the laptop, don't pay strangers by check. They think they are going to get boned, and you should be worried about giving out your most precious of information. Checks have bank account and routing number, all you need to clean someone out.
